Zara April 2011 Lookbook

2011/04/09

Another great lookbook from Zara, that once again emphasizes on minimalism. Some how this lookbook reminds me of Celine and Chloe quite a bit, am I the only one? Some people are saying it’s a total rip-off and that Zara has been stealing their ideas season after season. But Coco Chanel once said she “would cry the day her designs are no longer copied”.

The way I see it is that having your designs being sold in the mass market is a form of flattery. It means that the trends the designer had envisioned for their runway was well received and appreciated by the masses. Obviously a lot of people can’t afford what they see on the runway, so it’s up to stores like Zara and H&M to translate that trend into something more affordable.

What are your thoughts on stores like Zara and H&M selling clothing heavily influenced by other designers?
