McQueen Resort 2011

2010/07/06

I was really anticipating this collection because I was anxious to see what direction Sarah Burton was going to take the McQueen brand. I think that while you can tell there’s been a change, she has kept true to the elements that McQueen was known for but in a softer more feminine way.

From intricate lace, to strong shoulders and what looks like gowns drenched in blood this collection simply takes my breath away.

I honestly can’t think of anything negative to say about this collection. I love the fabric choices, the colours, and the styling of each outfit. I’m definitely looking forward to seeing more from Sarah Burton.

The model looks evil. Interesting dresses though.

Her death glare is scary. But the dresses…..to DIE for!

Omg! I am in love! They are very nice pieces! I feel like she JUST took over didn’t she? Like a minute ago? She’s a quick one on the design board.

She was actually his right hand woman for 14 years, and in 2000 she was head of design for his ready to wear line.

Sarah Burton actually finished his fall 2010 ready to wear line when he suddenly passed away. So she hasn’t just taken over like a minute ago! hahaha.
