Oscar de la Renta Resort 2012
Inspired by Picasso’s cubist paintings, we see a large variety of angular shapes and vibrant, playful colours. There are also hints of Spanish influences as seen in the matador jackets, sashes, embroidery and accessories.
The one thing that attracted me most about this collection was the plethora of hats – which were made from black construction paper. My favourite hat would probably have to be the one that looks like a sombrero with tassels hanging off the edge of the hat. Albeit, a little weird, I think it actually works really well with the entire collection. I wonder what influenced Mr. De La Renta to put hats on his models though.
I think that if Picasso were alive today, and he was a couturier this would be right up his alley. What do you guys think of the collection?

I think that Picasso would have loved these dresses. Your readers might like my blog at http://segmation.wordpress.com/2011/01/04/leonardo-and-picasso-artists-of-their-times-www-segmation-com/. Thanks for allowing my comments!
